Free Government Phones From Verizon
Verizon is one of the best known providers of FiOS services. Verizon’s FiOS system uses broadband, or Internet connections over a copper wire network to provide high-speed Internet and voice services to homes and businesses in the greater Washington DC metropolitan area. Verizon’s FiOS broadband Internet service is also available in parts of New York City, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Annapolis, Maryland. In the coming months, Verizon will begin offering free government phones to qualifying customers who sign up for the Verizon FiOS system.
The free government phones that Verizon is offering will be provided as a gift from Verizon to help them encourage new customers to purchase FiOS service. By helping connect low income and minority families with affordable telecommunications, Verizon is working to improve the economy and strengthen the country as a whole. “This program is another example of how Verizon is helping customers who need support with buying a cell phone,” said John Pace, Verizon Executive Vice President for Sales and Marketing. “The special gift of a Verizon FiOS home phone can give a struggling family the boost they need to keep their communications going.”
By helping people in these low income and minority neighborhoods get a Verizon FiOS home phone service, Verizon is working to increase their customer base and improve their bottom line. The FiOS home phone service from Verizon is also beginning to spread to other cities and towns outside of the Washington DC metro area, where it is already available. By offering the free government phones and offering additional assistance with buying high-speed Internet service, Verizon is looking to attract more customers and improve their customer satisfaction. Although many cell phone providers offer similar assistance programs, Verizon’s plan to give free government phones to qualifying customers seems like a great deal that might just catch on.
